A new XR chant in 3 parts by Selena Mara
- What is 'the heartline'? Well, during Extinction Rebellion actions, such as the occupations of major cities, a group of people take over a street or bridge or square.
- There are lots of people there over the whole area, but there is always one 'edge' of the protest where people are refusing to move and are risking arrest. At first rebels were referring to this as the 'frontline' of the action.
- But with the influence of regenerative and peaceful culture, this term was seen as rather 'war-like' and they wanted to avoid that, so to instil a different energy in our experience of this activity, it started being referred to as 'the heartline'.
- I said in the video that I would provide the 3 parts of this song as audio files, and as a musical score, so that you can learn them. Below is the score.
